  • Yield: 4 Portionen 1x

Description

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Glas Sellerie, in Streifen
  • 1 großer Apfel, säuerlich
  • 1 Dose Mais
  • 6 Scheiben gekochter Schinken
  • 5 Eier
  • 3 Stangen Porree
  • 2 Dosen Mandarinen
  • 1 Dose Ananas
  • 1 Glas Miracel Whip
  • 1 Packung geriebener Käse (Gouda), 30 % Fett

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing all the canned and jarred ingredients. Open the jar of celery strips, the can of corn, the cans of mandarins, and the can of pineapple. Drain each of them thoroughly to remove excess liquid. Once drained, cut the pineapple into small, bite-sized pieces to ensure even layering and easy eating later.
  2. Next, prepare the fresh ingredients. Take the cooked ham slices and cut them into small cubes. Clean the porree (leek) stalks thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt, then slice them into fine rings. Wash the apple, peel it if desired, and cut it into small pieces similar in size to the pineapple chunks to maintain consistency in texture and flavor throughout the salad.
  3. Now, cook the eggs. Place the eggs in a pot of cold water, ensuring they are covered by at least an inch of water. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and let the eggs simmer for about 8-10 minutes until hard-boiled. Remove the eggs from the hot water and immediately place them in a bowl of cold water to stop the cooking process and make peeling easier. Once cooled, peel the eggs and dice them into small cubes.
  4. Prepare a large, clear glass bowl or a similar transparent container to assemble the salad. This enhances the visual appeal by showing the distinct layers clearly. Begin layering the salad by placing the drained celery strips evenly at the bottom of the bowl, spreading them out to create a uniform base layer.
  5. Add the diced apple pieces evenly on top of the celery layer, ensuring full coverage so that every bite will contain some apple flavor.
  6. Sprinkle the drained corn evenly over the apple layer to add sweetness and crunch.
  7. Spread one-third of the total Miracel Whip evenly over the corn layer. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to gently smooth it out, creating a creamy layer that will bind the ingredients together without mixing them.
  8. Add one-third of the sliced porree rings evenly over the Miracel Whip layer, distributing them to maintain consistent texture and flavor across the salad.
  9. Evenly distribute the chopped pineapple pieces over the porree layer, maintaining the pattern of alternating sweet and savory flavors.
  10. Next, add the diced cooked ham cubes evenly on top of the pineapple layer, ensuring they are spread out for balanced taste.
  11. Sprinkle the drained mandarins evenly over the ham layer to introduce fresh citrus notes and slight sweetness.
  12. Spread another one-third of the Miracel Whip evenly over the mandarins layer, smoothing it carefully to maintain the layering effect and provide moisture to the salad.
  13. Add another one-third portion of the sliced porree rings evenly over this creamy layer to maintain flavor consistency and texture.
  14. Distribute the diced hard-boiled eggs evenly across the porree layer, adding richness and protein to the salad.
  15. Spread the final one-third of the Miracel Whip smoothly over the eggs layer to bind the top layers together and keep the salad moist.
  16. Add the remaining sliced porree rings evenly over the creamy egg layer, finishing the vegetable layering with a fresh crunch.
  17. Finally, sprinkle the grated Gouda cheese evenly on top of the last porree layer. Do not stir or mix any of the layers; the salad should remain layered to preserve its distinct textures and flavors.
  18. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate the salad for 24 hours. This resting period allows all the flavors to meld together beautifully and the layers to soften slightly, resulting in a deliciously cohesive and flavorful layered salad.
  19. Before serving, gently remove the cover, and serve the salad chilled directly from the glass bowl to showcase the beautiful layering effect.

Notes

For the best visual effect and flavor, prepare the salad in a large transparent glass bowl so the distinct layers are visible. Be sure not to mix or stir the layers after assembling to maintain the texture contrast. Letting the salad rest for a full 24 hours in the refrigerator is essential for the flavors to meld perfectly. You can adjust the amount of Miracel Whip to your taste if you prefer it creamier or lighter.
