Amerikanischer Eisbergsalat Rezept

  • Author: Sarah
  • Total Time: 30
  • Yield: 4 Portionen 1x

Description

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Eisbergsalat
  • 3 Tomaten
  • 1 Salatgurke
  • 200 g Gouda, gerieben
  • 4 Eier, gekocht
  • 200 g Kochschinken
  • 2 EL Salatcreme (Miracel Whip)

Instructions

  1. Begin by thoroughly washing the head of iceberg lettuce under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Gently pat the lettuce dry with a clean kitchen towel or use a salad spinner to remove excess water.
  2. Cut the iceberg lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Discard the core and place the lettuce pieces into a large salad bowl.
  3. Rinse the tomatoes under water, dry them, then cut them into small cubes or wedges according to your preference. Add the tomato pieces to the bowl with the lettuce.
  4. Peel the cucumber if desired, then slice it lengthwise and cut it into half-moon shapes or small cubes. Add the cucumber to the salad bowl.
  5. Peel the hard-boiled eggs and chop them into small pieces. Add the chopped eggs to the salad bowl.
  6. Cut the cooked ham into thin strips or small cubes. Add the ham to the rest of the salad ingredients.
  7. Add the grated Gouda cheese to the bowl with the other ingredients.
  8. Spoon the salad cream (such as Miracel Whip) over the salad ingredients.
  9. Using two large salad spoons, gently but thoroughly toss all the ingredients together until the salad cream is evenly distributed and everything is well mixed.
  10. Taste the salad and adjust seasoning if desired. Serve immediately, or chill for 30 minutes in the refrigerator for a colder, more refreshing salad.

Notes

You can add other fresh vegetables such as bell peppers or sweet corn for extra color and flavor. For a lighter version, substitute half of the salad cream with plain yogurt. Feel free to use a different cheese or omit the ham for a vegetarian option. The salad is perfect for barbecues, parties, or as a quick, filling meal.
