Description

  • 320 g Mehl
  • 220 g Butter
  • 1 Paket Backpulver
  • 1,5 kg Äpfel, gewürfelt
  • Puderzucker

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 210°C (410°F) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat or in the microwave. Once melted, set it aside to cool slightly while you prepare the rest of the batter.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar and eggs. Using an electric mixer or a whisk, beat the mixture for several minutes until it becomes pale, thick, and creamy. This step helps incorporate air and will give the cake a light texture.
  4. Add the packet of Vanillinzucker (vanilla sugar) to the egg mixture and mix well to combine.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder to ensure the leavening agent is evenly distributed.
  6. Gradually add the flour and baking powder mixture to the egg-sugar mixture, stirring gently until just combined and no dry patches remain.
  7. Pour the slightly cooled, melted butter into the batter and mix until the butter is fully incorporated, ensuring a smooth and even batter.
  8. Gently fold the diced apples (about 1.5 kg, peeled and cut into small cubes) into the batter using a spatula, making sure the apples are evenly distributed throughout.
  9. Pour or spread the batter evenly onto the prepared baking sheet, using a spatula to smooth the top and distribute the apple pieces evenly.
  10. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool slightly on the baking sheet. Once cooled, generously dust the top with powdered sugar before slicing and serving.

Notes
