  • 1 Packung Löffelbiskuits (Biskotten), große Packung
  • 250 ml Milch
  • etwas Rum
  • 250 ml süße Sahne (Schlagobers)
  • Schokoladenraspel

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine 250 ml of milk with a small amount of rum according to your taste preference. Stir well to blend the rum evenly with the milk. This mixture will be used to soak the Löffelbiskuits to soften them and add flavor.
  2. Take one Löffelbiskuit at a time and briefly dip it into the milk and rum mixture. Ensure the biscuit is soaked but not soggy or falling apart. Immediately place each soaked biscuit flat into the bottom of your chosen baking dish or springform cake pan, lining the entire base evenly without gaps.
  3. Once the base layer of soaked Löffelbiskuits is complete, spread a generous and even layer of Apfelmus (apple sauce) over the biscuits. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to smooth the Apfelmus evenly, covering all biscuits completely.
  4. Repeat the layering process by dipping more Löffelbiskuits in the milk and rum mixture and arranging them over the Apfelmus layer. Then add another layer of Apfelmus on top of this second layer of biscuits. Continue alternating layers of soaked Löffelbiskuits and Apfelmus until your baking dish or cake pan is filled up. Make sure the final top layer consists of Löffelbiskuits to create a firm and attractive finish.
  5. Cover the assembled Apfeltraum Torte with plastic wrap or a lid and place it in the refrigerator. Chill the cake overnight (at least 8 hours) to allow the flavors to meld together and for the biscuits to fully soften and absorb moisture, resulting in a creamy, cake-like texture.
  6. Before serving, whip the 250 ml of sweet cream (Schlagobers) until stiff peaks form. Spread the freshly whipped cream evenly over the top layer of biscuits. Finally, garnish the cake generously with chocolate shavings or Schokoladenraspel to add a rich, decorative touch and complementary flavor.

Notes

For a stronger rum flavor, adjust the amount of rum in the milk mixture to your preference. To make the dessert non-alcoholic, simply omit the rum and soak the biscuits in milk only. You can also add cinnamon or vanilla to the Apfelmus for an extra flavor dimension. Serve chilled and consume within 2 days for optimal freshness.
