Frikadellen in Gemüse-Sahne-Sauce Rezept

Frikadellen in Gemüse-Sahne-Sauce Rezept

  • Author: Sarah
  • Total Time: 30
  • Yield: 2 Portionen 1x

Description

Saftige Frikadellen aus würzigem Hackfleisch, goldbraun gebraten, in einer cremig-zarten Gemüse-Sahne-Sauce mit feinen Kräutern. Aromatisch, herzhaft und unwiderstehlich zart im Biss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g mixed ground meat (Hackfleisch, gemischt)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 slice of toast bread (soaked)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Some liquid soup seasoning (Suppenwürze)
  • 1 egg
  • Some mustard
  • Some oil
  • 2 cups cream (Sahne)
  • 1 jar/can peas and carrots (Erbsen/Möhren)
  • Some sauce thickener (Saucenbinder)
  • Some broth (Brühe)

Instructions

  1. Begin by peeling and finely dicing the onion. Place the diced onion in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Take the slice of toast bread and soak it briefly in water or milk until soft. Squeeze out any excess liquid and add the bread to the bowl with the onions.
  3. Add the mixed ground meat to the bowl. Crack in the egg. Season the mixture generously with salt, pepper, a bit of mustard, and a splash of liquid soup seasoning to enhance the flavor.
  4. Using clean hands, thoroughly combine all the ingredients in the bowl until you have a uniform mixture. The mixture should be moist but hold its shape when formed.
  5. Shape the meat mixture into even-sized Frikadellen (German meat patties), making them slightly flattened so they cook evenly.
  6. Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat and add a thin layer of oil. When the oil is hot, place the Frikadellen in the pan. Fry them on all sides until they are golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side depending on thickness. Once cooked, remove the Frikadellen from the pan and set aside.
  7. Drain the peas and carrots from the jar or can. Add the drained vegetables to the same pan with the remaining cooking fat. Sauté the vegetables for about 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, to let them absorb the flavors from the pan.
  8. Pour the cream into the pan with the vegetables and stir to combine. Allow the mixture to come to a gentle simmer, letting the flavors meld for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Taste the sauce and add some broth as needed to adjust the flavor and consistency. Season with additional salt, pepper, and soup seasoning if desired.
  10. To thicken the sauce, sprinkle in a little sauce thickener while stirring constantly, until the sauce reaches your preferred consistency. Simmer for another 1-2 minutes.
  11. Gently place the cooked Frikadellen back into the pan on top of the sauce. Cover the pan and heat everything together over low heat for 5 minutes, allowing the Frikadellen to absorb some of the creamy vegetable sauce and become hot.
  12. Serve the Frikadellen hot, generously spooned with the creamy vegetable sauce. They pair wonderfully with potatoes, rice, or fresh bread.

Notes

You can use either fresh or canned peas and carrots for this recipe, though canned saves time. Adjust the seasonings to your taste, and feel free to add fresh herbs like parsley for extra flavor. The Frikadellen can also be made in advance and reheated in the sauce for even more flavor. If you prefer, substitute the sauce thickener with a little flour or cornstarch mixed with cold water.
