Ingredients
Scale
- 140 g Mais (corn)
- 500 g Joghurt (yogurt)
- 500 g Nudeln (pasta)
- 140 g Erbsen (peas)
- 300 g Mayonnaise
- Geflügelfleischwurst (poultry sausage), as desired
- Gewürzgurke(n) (pickled gherkins), as desired
- 3 EL Gurkenflüssigkeit (3 tablespoons gherkin pickle juice)
- 2 EL Hühnerbrühe (Instantpulver) (2 tablespoons instant chicken broth powder)
- 1 TL Paprikapulver (1 teaspoon paprika powder)
- 2 TL Knoblauchpulver (2 teaspoons garlic powder)
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with plenty of water and bring it to a boil. Add a generous amount of salt and then add the pasta. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until it is al dente, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and rinse thoroughly under cold running water to cool it quickly and stop the cooking process. Allow the pasta to drain completely and set it aside to cool.
- While the pasta is cooking and cooling, prepare the remaining ingredients. Slice the pickled gherkins into thin rounds or small cubes, depending on your preference. Cut the poultry sausage (Geflügelfleischwurst) into small, bite-sized cubes. Drain the corn and peas well, ensuring there is no excess liquid.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the yogurt and mayonnaise. Add the gherkin pickle juice, instant chicken broth powder, paprika powder, and garlic powder. Stir the mixture thoroughly with a whisk or spoon until a smooth, creamy dressing forms and all the powders are fully dissolved.
- Add the cooled, drained pasta to the bowl with the dressing. Add the drained corn, peas, chopped gherkins, and cubed poultry sausage to the bowl as well. Using large salad servers or a spatula, gently fold and mix all the ingredients together until the pasta is evenly coated with the creamy dressing and the other components are well distributed throughout.
- Taste the salad and adjust the seasoning if needed. You may add more pickle juice, salt, pepper, or additional paprika or garlic powder according to your taste.
- Transfer the finished pasta salad to a serving bowl or platter. The salad can be served immediately and does not require resting time, but if you prefer, you can refrigerate it for 15-30 minutes to let the flavors meld slightly and serve it chilled. Garnish with extra herbs or paprika if desired before serving.
Notes
You can customize this pasta salad by adding or substituting other ingredients such as diced bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, or different types of sausage or ham. For a lighter version, use reduced-fat mayonnaise or Greek yogurt. The salad tastes great both freshly made and after a short chill in the refrigerator. Adjust the amount of pickle juice and spices to suit your personal taste.
