Description
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 kg Rote Grütze (red fruit pudding) from the refrigerated section
- 600 g low-fat quark (Magerquark)
- 250 ml heavy cream (Sahne)
- 6 tablespoons vanilla sugar
- 10 tablespoons chocolate shavings or chocolate sprinkles
Instructions
- Begin by selecting a large glass bowl or trifle dish. Carefully pour the entire 1 kg of Rote Grütze into the bottom of the bowl, spreading it evenly to create a smooth, level layer. This will form the vibrant red base of your dessert and allow the layers to show beautifully through the glass.
- Next, prepare the creamy layer. In a large mixing bowl, pour in the 250 ml of heavy cream. Add the 6 tablespoons of vanilla sugar to the cream. Using an electric mixer or a hand whisk, whip the cream and vanilla sugar together until the mixture forms stiff peaks. This means the cream should be thick enough to hold its shape when you lift the beaters.
- Once the cream is whipped, add the 600 g of low-fat quark (Magerquark) to the bowl. With a spatula or mixer on low speed, gently fold and mix the quark into the whipped cream until you achieve a smooth, uniform, and creamy mixture. Make sure there are no lumps and the vanilla sugar is fully incorporated.
- Carefully spread the quark and cream mixture over the layer of Rote Grütze in the glass bowl. Use a spoon or spatula to distribute it evenly, covering the entire surface of the fruit layer. Smooth the top with the back of a spoon or an offset spatula for a neat appearance.
- For the final touch, evenly sprinkle the 10 tablespoons of chocolate shavings or chocolate sprinkles over the entire surface of the quark cream layer. Add enough so that the creamy layer is completely covered, and only the chocolate topping is visible from above. This will create a visually appealing and delicious finishing layer.
- Refrigerate the assembled dessert for at least 1 hour before serving. This allows the flavors to meld and the dessert to chill thoroughly. When ready to serve, use a large spoon to scoop through all the layers, ensuring each serving includes the fruity base, creamy middle, and chocolate topping.
Notes
For the best visual effect, assemble this dessert in a clear glass bowl or trifle dish, so the layers are visible. You can make the dessert in advance and refrigerate it for several hours or overnight, making it perfect for parties or gatherings. If you prefer a richer flavor, consider using full-fat quark or adding a splash of vanilla extract to the cream. Fresh berries can be added for extra freshness and flavor.
