Schnitzelpfanne, mal ganz einfach Rezept

Description

Zart gebratenes Schnitzelfleisch in cremiger Sauce aus süßer Sahne, würziger Zwiebelsuppe und tomatigem Mark, goldbraun in Olivenöl geschmort – saftig, aromatisch, mit verführerisch sämiger Konsistenz.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices schnitzel meat
  • 200 ml sweet cream (süße Sahne)
  • 1 packet instant onion soup mix
  • 1/2 small can tomato paste
  • Olive oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the schnitzel meat by either slicing it into thin strips (schnetzel) or leaving the pieces whole, depending on your preference. Pat the meat dry with paper towels to ensure even browning.
  2. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and add a small amount of olive oil, enough to coat the bottom of the pan. Once the oil is hot and shimmering, add the schnitzel meat to the pan in a single layer. Sear the meat for several minutes on each side until it is nicely browned and cooked through. If you are using strips, stir occasionally to brown all sides. Once cooked, reduce the heat to medium-low.
  3. While the meat is browning, combine the sweet cream, instant onion soup mix, and tomato paste in a medium mixing bowl. Stir the mixture thoroughly until the soup powder and tomato paste are fully dissolved into the cream, creating a smooth sauce.
  4. Pour the prepared sauce mixture over the browned meat in the skillet. Use a spoon or spatula to ensure all pieces of meat are coated with the sauce.
  5. Allow the sauce and meat to heat together in the skillet for several minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is hot, slightly thickened, and bubbling gently. The flavors will meld and the sauce will coat the meat evenly.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired. Serve the schnitzel pan hot, directly from the skillet. Optionally, omit the tomato paste for a milder flavor, as the dish tastes delicious both ways.

Notes

You can leave out the tomato paste if you prefer a more classic creamy onion flavor. This dish pairs well with rice, pasta, or crusty bread to soak up the flavorful sauce. For extra flavor, you can add some freshly ground black pepper or a sprinkle of chopped parsley before serving. If you like, use turkey or pork schnitzel according to your taste.
