Ingredients
Scale
- 120 g Zucker
- 250 g Margarine
- 4 Eier
- 1 Packung Backpulver
- 1 Tasse Mehl
- ½ Packung Schokostreusel
- 2 ½ Tassen Puderzucker
- 1 Tasse Butter, zerlassen
- 1 Packung Vanillezucker
- 4 TL Kaffeesahne
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 170–180°C (338–356°F) and grease a springform pan thoroughly with butter or margarine to prevent sticking.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 120 g sugar, 250 g margarine (softened), and 4 eggs. Beat the mixture with an electric mixer or whisk until the mixture is creamy and well combined, with no lumps remaining.
- Add 1 pack of baking powder and 1 cup of flour to the wet mixture. Mix until all dry ingredients are fully incorporated and the batter is smooth.
- Gently fold in half a pack of chocolate sprinkles (Schokostreusel) into the batter, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan and use a spatula to spread it evenly. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes at 170–180°C, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. This is important to ensure the glaze will set properly and not melt.
- While the cake is cooling, prepare the glaze. In a medium bowl, combine 2 ½ cups powdered sugar, 1 cup melted butter, 1 pack of vanilla sugar, and 4 teaspoons of coffee cream. Stir the ingredients together until you have a smooth, glossy glaze with a spreadable consistency. If the glaze is too thick, add a little more coffee cream; if too thin, add a bit more powdered sugar.
- Once the cake has cooled completely, carefully remove it from the springform pan. Pour the prepared glaze over the cake, using a spatula or the back of a spoon to spread it evenly over the top and sides.
- Allow the glaze to set at room temperature for at least 15–20 minutes before serving. Slice and enjoy your Zauberkuchen!
Notes
For best results, make sure all ingredients are at room temperature before starting. You can add extra chocolate sprinkles on top of the glaze for a decorative finish. The cake can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
