Hawaii-Schnitzel Rezept

  • Author: Sarah
  • Total Time: 30
  • Yield: 2 Portionen 1x

Description

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Schweineschnitzel oder Hähnchenschnitzel
  • Salz und Pfeffer, frisch gemahlen
  • 1,2 Liter Schlagsahne
  • 3 Becher Crème fraîche
  • 6 TL Saucenbinder, hell
  • 3 Pck. Saucenpulver (Rahm)
  • Sojasauce
  • 600 g Schinken, gewürfelt
  • 12 Scheiben Ananas
  • 24 Scheiben Käse (Scheiblettenkäse)
  • 24 Cocktailkirschen

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat) or 180°C (convection/fan). If using gas, preheat to level 3-4.
  2. Rinse the schnitzels (either pork or chicken) under cold running water to remove any residue. Pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.
  3. Cut the schnitzels in half to create smaller portions, if desired. Season both sides generously with freshly ground salt and pepper.
  4. Grease a large baking dish or casserole dish with a little oil or butter to prevent sticking.
  5. Arrange the seasoned schnitzel pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish, making sure they do not overlap too much.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream (Schlagsahne), crème fraîche, light sauce thickener (Saucenbinder, hell), and cream sauce powder (Rahmsaucenpulver). Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and a dash of soy sauce to taste. Whisk everything together thoroughly until smooth and well blended.
  7. Pour the prepared cream sauce evenly over the schnitzels in the baking dish, ensuring all pieces are well covered.
  8. Evenly scatter the diced ham (Schinkenwürfel) over the schnitzels and sauce.
  9. Place the baking dish on the middle rack of the preheated oven and bake for about 55 minutes.
  10. While the schnitzels are baking, drain the pineapple slices and pat them dry with paper towels. Prepare the cheese slices and cocktail cherries for topping.
  11. After about 55 minutes of baking time, carefully remove the dish from the oven. Lay one slice of pineapple on each schnitzel piece. Place two slices of processed cheese (Scheiblettenkäse) over each schnitzel, covering the pineapple.
  12. Top each schnitzel with a cocktail cherry, gently pressing it into the cheese.
  13. Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and everything is heated through.
  14. Remove from the oven and let the Hawaii-Schnitzel rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

You can use either pork or chicken schnitzels for this recipe, depending on your preference. If you prefer a crispier texture, you can bread and fry the schnitzels before assembling the casserole, but this is optional. Serve the Hawaii-Schnitzel with rice, French fries, or a fresh salad. For a more intense flavor, you can add a splash of pineapple juice to the sauce mixture. Adjust the amount of soy sauce to your taste.
